The Board of Directors has accepted the recommendation of the Nominating Committee of ST Engineering which has reviewed RADM Aaron Beng Yao Cheng's qualifications and experience and approved the appointment of RADM Beng as a non-independent non-executive Director of ST Engineering.

Pursuant to ST Engineering's Constitution, RADM Beng is subject to retirement and re-election at the next Annual General Meeting of ST Engineering.

RADM Beng is currently the Chief of Defence Force of the Singapore Armed Forces. Prior to this, he has held several key appointments in the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) including Chief of Navy, Fleet Commander and Director Policy Office.

RADM Beng's qualifications and his past and present various positions in the MINDEF equip him with the requisite experience and capabilities as well as ability to bring in defence perspective to Board discussions. The Board was of the view that the appointment of RADM Beng is appropriate and complements the competencies and skills of the present Board members.
