Description (Please provide a detailed description of the event in the box below)
Singapore Exchange (SGX) and the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), the largest U.S. options exchange and creator of listed options, have signed a collaboration agreement to develop and conduct educational programmes for investors on the effective use of options trading and risk management strategies.

This educational collaboration, named CBOE Options Institute at SGX , will be part of SGX Academy and will launch in Singapore in the fourth quarter of 2015. It will be the first international extension of the CBOE Options Institute, the renowned educational arm of the CBOE. The collaboration will incorporate the latest in options trading education from CBOE into SGX Academy programmes. CBOE will also provide knowledge transfer to SGX Academy trainers to allow such programmes to be offered over the long term.

This collaboration is an extension of SGX s ongoing investor education initiative and supports its objective of enhancing both retail and institutional investor understanding of the evolving securities market and products available to them. SGX Academy and its partners have reached out and educated more than 150,000 individuals through face-to-face education and new on-line channels in the past year. The education content, which ranges from beginner to professional level, has seen increased interest from both the public and professional segments. We expect the new options education capabilities to also serve these two groups.

Commenting on the announcement, Chew Sutat, Executive Vice President of SGX, said; We are delighted to be partnering with CBOE, the pioneer in securities options education, and to be selected as its first international collaboration partner. This partnership is an important step in our aim to further engage, educate and enable investors in Asia.

Also commenting on the partnership, CBOE Holdings CEO Edward T. Tilly said; CBOE s Options Institute continues to grow and we are pleased to collaborate with SGX given its connectivity with investors across Asia and its track record and commitment to ongoing investor education. This joint endeavour leverages our strengths and is an important response to the growing interest we see for options and volatility trading in Asia.
