Mr. Jean-Luc Butel is the President of International of Baxter Healthcare (Asia) Pte Ltd. Mr. Butel joined Baxter International Inc. in February 2012 as Corporate Vice-President and President of International and responsible for leading all the international operations for Baxter. He also served as executive sponsor of Baxter's Asian Leadership Network business resource group for employees, which provides a forum to enhance engagement, build on recruitment and retention efforts, and increase the impact of initiatives in the Asian-American community. Mr. Butel served as the executive sponsor of Baxter's Global Inclusion Council, which provides thought leadership, guidance and support to enhance Baxter's inclusive culture.

Prior to joining Baxter, Mr. Butel held various leadership positions with Medtronic, Inc., most recently as Executive Vice President and Group President of International Operations. Butel served on the board of the Medtronic foundation and was the executive sponsor for the Global Leaders Program, a program tailored to the development of Medtronic s top talent. Prior to joining Medtronic in 2003, he served as President of Independence Technology, a Johnson & Johnson company dedicated to providing advanced mobility technology for people with mobility related disability. From 1991 to 1999 was with the Becton Dickinson Company where he served as the Worldwide President for the Consumer Healthcare group and prior to that role served as the President of Nippon Becton Dickinson. Mr. Butel started his career with Johnson & Johnson.

Mr. Butel serves as a member of the Singapore Economic Development Board and was recognized by that organization in 2014 with the Friends of Singapore Public Service Medal. He also serves on the board of International Partnership for Innovative Healthcare Delivery, a non-profit organization that looks at innovative healthcare delivery needs.

Mr. Butel holds a B.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University, and an M.B.A. in International Business from the American School of International Management (Thunderbird).
