The Board, with the recommendation from the Nominating Committee ("NC"), has reviewed and is satisfied that the NC has assessed and considered Prof Leong to be independent in accordance with the relevant requirements of the Listing Manual of the SGX-ST, and the Code of Corporate Governance 2018, and has therefore approved the re-designation of Prof Leong as an Independent Non-Executive Director and her appointment as Chairman of the Remuneration Committee in order to facilitate the process of board renewal.
