The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) approved on 08 June 2021 the amendment to Article Seventh of the Bank's Articles of Incorporation.

The amendment to the articles of incorporation increase in authorized capital is related to the proposed merger of BPI Family Savings Bank, Inc. to Bank of the Philippine Islands.

The increase in the Authorized Capital stock particularly the common stock from 4.9 billion to 5 billion and the corresponding amendment to the Articles of Incorporation was approved by the stockholders representing at least two-thirds of the total outstanding shares last 22 April 2021.
