NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that United Microelectronics Corporation (the Company ) announced a cash dividend of NT 0.56501906 per common share after such dividend was approved at the general shareholders meeting on June 7, 2016 and the meeting of Board of Directors on June 15, 2016.

As a result, UMC informs the holders of the Bonds that a Closed Period (as defined in the Indenture) will be in effect during the period between June 23, 2016 to July 18, 2016. The record date will be set on July 18, 2016.
