NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that United Microelectronics Corporation (the "Company") announced a cash dividend of NT$0.71164307 per common share after such dividend was approved at the annual general meeting on June 12, 2018 and the meeting of Board of Directors on June 12, 2018.

As a result, UMC informs the holders of the Bonds that a "Closed Period" (as defined in the Indenture) will be in effect during the period between June 21, 2018 to July 16, 2018. The record date will be set on July 16, 2018.
