Singapore Exchange's (SGX) 2017 Bull Charge Charity Golf event, held at Tanah Merah Country Club today, saw participation from 53 companies, raising a total of $328,000 in proceeds.

The Charity Golf event is the opening shot for SGX Bull Charge, a year-long charity programme that rallies the financial community and SGX-listed companies together for a charitable cause.

All proceeds raised will go to five charities - Asian Women's Welfare Association (AWWA), Autism Association of Singapore, Fei Yue Community Services, Shared Services for Charities and Community Chest. Contributions from SGX Bull Charge sponsors have since enabled its beneficiaries to deliver better care and assistance to those in need, specifically underprivileged children and youth, families, the disabled and the elderly.

This year, SGX Bull Charge, now in its 14th year, will be raising funds through a series of fundraising events, namely today's Charity Golf, Charity Futsal to be held on 30 September 2017 and the Charity Run as the grand finale for SGX Bull Charge 2017, to be held on 17 November 2017 at the Singapore F1 Pit.

Chew Sutat, SGX Bull Charge Chairman and Head of Equities and Fixed Income, SGX, said, "Over the past 14 years, Bull Charge has raised a total of over $29 million and worked with over 50 different charities. We are grateful for the huge support that we continue to receive from our generous sponsors, year after year, all with the aim of building a more sustainable society and improving lives.
