NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Novatek announced a cash dividend of NT$37.0 per common share on June 20th, 2023 and the register will be closed from July 13rd, 2023 to July 17th, 2023. Such declaration of dividends was approved at a general meeting of the Novatek s shareholders held on May 31st, 2023 before such dividends were legally made.

As a result, UMC informs the holders of the Bonds that a Closed Period (as defined in the Indenture) has started and will end on July 17th, 2023. The record date will be set on July 17th, 2023.
