The Board of SMRT Corporation Ltd wishes to announce that Mr. Ng Bor Kiat, who is currently Senior Vice President, Systems & Technology and Technology Management Office, will be appointed to take on the concurrent appointment as Chief Technology Officer, SMRT Corporation on 01 September 2016. As Senior Vice President, Systems & Technology and Technology Management Office, Mr. Ng led technological innovations across SMRT Group including prioritisation of technical investments and resources. He led technical experts and representatives from SMRT Trains, SMRT Roads, SMRT Services and other business units in research and technology projects as part of the Technology Management cluster, including the SMRT-NTU Smart Urban Rail Corp Lab with the view to implementable solutions that will help ensure the sustainability and high performance of our rail network.

As Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Ng will report to the Company's President and Group CEO, Mr Desmond Kuek.

Prior to joining SMRT, he was Director, Corporate Development at the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources and has more than 13 years of experience with The Defence Science and Technology Agency. Bor Kiat has extensive experience in maintenance and engineering support, corporate services, project management and safety assessment, and is a Chartered Engineer in Railway and Transportation Engineering.
