The Company was incorporated in Singapore on 21 December 1970 under the name of
Isetan Emporium (S) Pte Ltd. On 3 September 1981, the name of the Company was
changed to Isetan (S) Ltd when it became a public company. It is principally
engaged in the trading of general merchandise and the business of operating
departmental stores.
Isetan was the first Japanese department store in Singapore when it opened in
1972. Today, Isetan is a fashion department store with four stores and a
specialty shop catering to both local customers and tourists.
The Company's holding company, which is also the ultimate holding company, is
Isetan Co Ltd, incorporated in Japan.
