Lyxor ETF MSCI Emerging Markets
Lyxor ETF MSCI Emerging Markets (the “Fund”) (SGX Code: H1N, Bloomberg: LEM SP,
Reuters: LLEM.SI) is managed by Lyxor International Asset Management (“Lyxor”),
a leading provider of Exchange-Traded Funds (“ETF”).
The Fund has been approved by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (“MAS”) as a
recognized collective investment scheme in Singapore and fully compliant with
European Union standards (UCITS III Directive).
Its investment objective is to gain exposure to the emerging countries stock
markets (such as that of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China, Columbia, Czech
Republic, Egypt, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Israel, Jordan, Malaysia, Mexico,
Morocco, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Russia, South Africa, South
Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and Venezuela) by providing investment results
that closely correspond to the performance of the MSCI EMERGING MARKETS™ index
(the “Index”), denominated in USD, price return, plus the potential dividends
the Fund may receive from the holding of the stocks of the Index (the
“Benchmark Index”) insofar as possible minimizing the tracking error between
the Fund’s performance and that of the Benchmark Index.
The Fund aims to achieve an annualized tracking error, computed on a weekly
basis over a period of 52 weeks, that does not exceed either (i) 2% or (ii) 10%
of the volatility of the Benchmark Index computed on a weekly basis over a
period of 52 weeks, whichever is greater.
The Benchmark
The MSCI Emerging Markets™ Index (Bloomberg Ticker: MXEF) is part of the MSCI
BARRA® series of global emerging markets indices. MSCI BARRA® is one of the
largest index vendors in the world and the MSCI BARRA® series of indices
represent some of the most widely recognized and followed benchmark indices.
The MSCI Emerging Markets™ Index is one of the MSCI Global Standard Indices,
which are divided into large and mid cap segments and provide exhaustive
coverage of these size segments by targeting a coverage range around 85% of
free float-adjusted market capitalization in each market. Every listed security
in the Emerging markets is identified. The securities are free float adjusted,
classified in accordance with the Global Industry Classification Standard
(GICS®), and screened by size, liquidity and minimum free float. As of the end
of March 2009, the MSCI Emerging Markets™ Index comprised 738 stocks in 23
countries with a total market capitalization of US$1.77 trillion Source: MSCI.
